Happy Halloween Everyone!
Thought it would be super fun to post some of our photos from a few of our fabulous Monster Month Events that we had going on in Elora this October. Local artist Tim Murton’s “Twilight Zoo” displayed many lit up monster creations (some of which you’ll see in our parade pictures), and our first ever Monster March parade was a serious success. Somehow I managed to put myself at the head of the parade (Yikes) holding the banner with Renate Karger of the beautiful Karger gallery. (www.kargergallery.com)
I was a witch of sorts and she was a throwback from hippy chickdom. We had quite a huge turnout of parade observers and participants including cheerleaders (dead, of course), dancers, creepy ghosts of all sizes as well as a myriad of other scary and nifty assorted goblins and ghouls! Julie Denneny of Widgett Hall bed and breakfast did a fantastic job organizing all of the excited and excitable (including two high spirited spirit horses!), congratulations Julie! In spite of the threat of rain, we had around 1000 stoic viewers and much Halloween enthusiasm!
Julie (along with Resa of the Desert Rose Cafe) was also in charge of the Haunted Desert Rose which was open for five nights before Halloween. Admission was a can of food for the Centre Wellington Food Bank, and it was a smashing success! Resa and Julie, along with a few volunteers spent hours decorating the Desert Rose into a virtual den of spookyness! I even got to spend a night in the coffin! Here are a few pictures of the inside of the decorations.
Didn’t they do an fantastic job?
